Cryogénie continues to focus on innovation in the field of vacuum brazing processes by finalizing the development and deployment of a brazing furnace simulation and regulating package. This project, in collaboration with the École des Mines de Paris engineering school, allows Nordon Cryogénie to control brazing quality for heat exchangers of especially large sizes and/or intended for high-pressure classified applications in the gas separation/liquefaction field. Using this package, Nordon Cryogénie can also extrapolate its mastery of brazing to materials other than aluminium, such as copper or stainless steel, and so anticipate the development of compact plate-fin heat exchangers outside the field of cryogenics.

Cryomec AG, a Nordon Cryogénie subsidiary,
has developed a CO2 pumping system for Incitec Pivot, its customer in Brisbane, Australia, with the aim of increasing urea production by CO2 injection in reactors. This new installation which can reach a pressure of 400 bars is completed by an electric heater ensuring injection at a very precise temperature. As a result, urea production can be increased by 50 tonnes/day without affecting any other equipment on the plant. This turnkey development is a world first for the pumping of liquid CO2 at 400 bars in continuous operation.
